Startup Stipz Makes it Easy to Sell Live Online Video

If you've got video worth paying for, you don't want to post it online for free. Figuring out how to sell it, though, can be a hassle, or too technical for many. That's where Stipz hopes to find an audience. This just-launched platform wants to help anyone make money with live online video.

The service is still in beta, so the developers aren't charging a monthly fee for it yet. Users will still have to pay a service fee of 30 percent of anything they take in. Eventually the site will offer Pro and Enterprise membership levels, but we don't know what additional features those will offer.

The site is targeting people who want to offer one-to-one lessons (such as coaching), one-to-many (such as training workshops), and live streams (for events and concerts).

Pricing is up to the users, as they can decide the fee to view their work and whether viewers are charged a flat or per-minute fee. Users can schedule and host an unlimited number of video streams. Viewers pay through credit cards and the account holders get their cuts through PayPal.

If you want to try it out, a video camera and an Internet upstream connection of 500kb is all you need.
